Claiming CE

RADIANT Fellows can claim Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits or receive documentation for:

  1. Completion of the TEACH Curriculum (30 hours)
  2. Completion Ultrasound Modules from NAF (if applicable; 5 hours)
  3. Reading the Overview of Illinois Abortion Laws (0.5 hours)
  4. Attending the RADIANT Live Training Event (2 days) on the UIC campus (16.5 hours)

TEACH Curriculum

CME credits for the TEACH Curriculum are solely issued through the University of California Office of Continuing Medical Education.  This didactic activity has been approved (for up to 3 Category 1 Credit hours per chapter; RADIANT Fellows are required to complete Modules 1-10) for a fee of $60; however, CME credits are not currently available due to internal system changes beginning Fall 2025. RADIANT Staff will notify Fellows once CME can be claimed. RADIANT includes funding for TEACH CME in the stipend provided at the completion of the Fellowship.

Ultrasound Modules

CME credit can be granted for those completing the Ultrasound-related modules through the Online Learning section of the National Abortion Federation website directly from NAF. CME credit is not available for the alternative Ultrasound training modules offered through the University of Washington.

NAF Ultrasound Modules:

  • Ultrasound 1: Introduction to Ultrasound
  • Ultrasound 2: Anatomy and Planes
  • Ultrasound 3: Early Pregnancy Landmarks & Dating
  • Ultrasound 4: Systematic Scan
  • Pregnancy of Uncertain Location

Complete the post-test to claim up to one (1) Category 1 CME for each module through NAF. Feel free to complete additional modules, but note they are not required.

RADIANT Live Event

The University of Illinois College of Medicine has designated the RADIANT Two-Day Live Event for 16.5 credits in Category 1 of the Physician’s Recognition Award. Those electing to receive credit must attend entire event and complete evaluation to receive a certificate (Physicians) or Letter of Attendance (Nurse Practitioners or Physician Associate) for their records.

Note: Certificates and transcripts are not required for the RADIANT Fellowship. They are for your records only.
